This role involves cultivating cross-functional teams, overseeing engineering challenges, and ensuring the integration of technologies with a focus on quality, safety, and time-to-market efficiency.Key Role Areas (KRA)Mechanical Design and Development Documentation and Compliance Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication Project Leadership and Risk ManagementContinuous Improvement and Professional DevelopmentJob Duties & ResponsibilitiesKRA 1 - Mechanical Design and Development Provide mechanical system, component, and product design.Apply mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.Use CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PDM) to develop accurate models and documentation.Ensure designs comply with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.KRA # 2 – Documentation and ComplianceMaintain detailed project documentation: drawings, specs, test reports, catalogs, and schedules.Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and company policies.Follow SOPs and filing protocols for project lifecycle consistency.KRA # 3 – Cross-Functional Collaboration and CommunicationCollaborate with cross-functional teams: electrical, applications, project management, procurement, and technicians.Communicate effectively with team members, leadership, and customers.Represent engineering at tradeshows and during customer-facing activities.Provide timely updates and solutions to internal and external stakeholders.KRA # 4 – Project Leadership and Risk ManagementLead mechanical design portions of projects from conception through completion. Monitor progress of designs against schedules and budgets.Identify and mitigate risks and challenges that may affect project outcomes.Drive adherence to internal project standards and expectations.KRA # 5 – Continuous Improvement and Professional DevelopmentSupport continuous improvement initiatives within mechanical engineering.Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices.Support company initiatives like the Viking Masek Value Proposition.Contribute to a culture of problem-solving, discipline, and accountability.
