Independent Contracted Used Deck Driver
Job Description:
Drivers must be on time for all pickup and delivery appointments and must complete all required paperwork in full for every load.
Drivers may select the loads they want to transport but must remain active by completing 3-5 deck loads per month.
Drivers must have their own tools and equipment necessary to deck and un-deck trucks.
Drivers are required to maintain accurate daily DOT driver logs and submit them as instructed.
This is an Independent Contractor Driver Position"not an Owner/Operator or company driver role.
This is a full-time OTR position. It is not local or regional.
Job Requirements:
CDL Class A with Double/Triple (T) Endorsements.
Minimum 2 years of verifiable OTR CMV driving experience, plus 1 year of verifiable decking and un-decking experience within the past 3 years.
Relatively clean driving record and stable employment history.
Valid CDL license and DOT Medical Examination Card.
Must be able to provide DOT numbers of previous employers for verification.
Must be able to provide documentation of companies you have transported, decked, and un-decked loads for within the last 3 years.
Strong knowledge of DOT HOS regulations and ability to maintain accurate, up-to-date DOT logs daily. Drivers must log as they move throughout the day using the Motive App.
Must provide your own tools and equipment for decking and un-decking trucks.
Must submit all required paperwork and documents on time and maintain excellent communication with dispatch.
Punctuality is essential at all pickup and delivery appointments.
Must consistently demonstrate a positive and professional attitude.
Must use MacroPoint for Truckers to provide real-time load tracking to our customers.
Wage Range: 1.15 - 1.55 per mile
General Description of Benefits: As an Independent Contractor, you will transport decked units on OTR routes.
You will be responsible for decking and un-decking these loads.
This is a full-time, nationwide position " not local, regional, company driver, or owner-operator.
Contractors have the flexibility to choose the loads they want to run while maintaining 2-5 loads per month.
Drivers are responsible for their own travel to and from pickup and delivery locations.
Driver coversall fuelfor transport; must have at least 4 inches of fuel in the tank at drop-off or charges may apply.
Driver is responsible for thefirst $200of wrecker charges.
Approval required for charges over $300. Must contact at least 3 wrecker services and choose the lowest price. Overage reimbursed with receipt unless otherwise specified.
Same-day pay is available when requirements are met.
Air Shield Removal & Transport:$75 each.
Re-Decking(lead truck change due to breakdown): $150 labor.
Second Wrecker(multi-pickup loads): 100% reimbursed unless otherwise specified.
Additional Drops:$25 per drop after the first.
Minimum Payouts:800 miles for standard loads; 1,000 miles for 4-way sleeper loads unless otherwise specified.
No Hoist at Drop-Off:Wrecker charge reimbursed with receipt (unless otherwise specified).
Attempted Pickup:$150 (case-by-case, requires reasonable wait or unavailable load).
Fuel Receipts Required:Receipts must be submitted with paperwork for payout.
Advances:Up to $500/day (until escrow met) Once escrow is met, up to 65% of load payout may be advanced.
Logs:Must use theMotive Appfor daily DOT logs. No paper logs accepted. Pay will be delayed if logs are missing.
Drivers must provide their own tools and equipment.
Most loads are 500-800 miles with a guaranteed 500-mile minimum payout unless otherwise specified.
Safety Chains must be used on each and every load!
Payout Structure(per mile + fuel surcharge):
2-Way:$1.15/mile
3-Way:$1.35/mile
4-Way:$1.45/mile
4-Way Plus:$1.55/mile
Fuel surcharge rate is based on the weekly national fuel average. Per-mile pay remains fixed.
