Job Description: HACCP Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented HACCP Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and maintaining Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) systems for our clients in the food industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP plans and food safety management systems
- Conduct hazard analyses and identify critical control points in food production processes
- Write and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for food safety and quality control
- Perform internal audits and assist in external audits to ensure compliance with HACCP principles and food safety regulations
- Provide training and guidance to staff on HACCP principles and food safety practices
- Travel to client sites as needed to assess and improve food safety systems
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in food safety
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Food Science, or a related field
- Proven experience in HACCP implementation and food safety management
- Strong understanding of HACCP principles and food safety regulations
- Proficiency in writing clear and concise SOPs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required
- Flexibility with work hours to accommodate travel and client needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- HACCP certification
- Experience in the food manufacturing or food service industry
- Familiarity with other food safety standards (e.g., GFSI, BRC, SQF)
