ICON GovCon Architect ICON Capture · Remote · Contract-to-Hire
The future of AI will not feel like AI.It will feel like walking into a Zoom call with a prime's BD Director and already knowing exactly where their competitive gap is — because the system surfaced it overnight before either of you woke up.The ICON GovCon Architect is the person in that Zoom call. What this role is:The GCA is a marketplace operator. ICON's Terminal identifies the motion. The GCA opens the door, walks the evidence, and facilitates the transaction. The intelligence infrastructure does the analytical work. You do the conversation work — and the conversation requires someone the other side of the table takes seriously. This is not a capture consulting role. You don't advise firms on what to pursue. You don't write proposals. You don't run pipeline management for your clients. You operate a governed marketplace that pre-qualifies everything before it reaches you — and you run the fulfillment sequence with the discipline and credibility that the GovCon community demands. What you will do:Receive motion assignments from ICON's CRM — recompetes, position captures, task order fills, SubNet placements, on-ramp formations. Review the case file. Open the door via a single precise posture observation. Run the Look-See call. Walk the evidence portfolio. Facilitate the introduction.Build enough trust in a 15-minute call that a BD Director shares their real competitive situation with you — not because you pitched them, but because you already knew it.Maintain conversation discipline: you narrate evidence, you don't steer selection. The buyer decides on the merits. That discipline is both a legal requirement and a product promise.Hand off cleanly to the Governance Success team when the motion converts to a platform relationship. What you bring:7+ years in federal capture, BD, or teaming — real pipeline, real loss reviews, real understanding of how a recompete actually unfolds. Fluency with how primes evaluate teaming candidates. Some combination of Shipley, GovClose, or equivalent experience in structured capture methodology. Enough credibility in the GovCon community that a cold LinkedIn message from you gets opened. You understand why a firm loses a pursuit they shouldn't have lost. You know the difference between a real competitive gap and a proposal problem. You can tell the difference between a shaping window and a response deadline. What you're walking into:A Terminal that monitors federal procurement signals overnight and routes matched motions to your queue before your day starts. A marketplace with architectural separation between every client and every prospect — governed, auditable, FAR-aware. A founding role with earnings that compound as your motion volume builds. What you are not walking into:A sales role where you build a pipeline from scratch. A consulting engagement where you own the outcome. A tool demo where you explain features. The Terminal already did the thinking. Your job is the conversation that closes the motion the Terminal already found.ICON is a VOSB headquartered in Stafford, Virginia. ICON Capture is the Government Marketplace Intelligence expression of ICON's Intelligence-as-a-Service platform. The Federal Market Terminal serves federal contractors, capital allocators, civic grant-seekers, research institutions, and lobbying operations. To apply: send your capture background and the answer to one question — what's the difference between a capture problem and a proposal problem?
