Golf Operations & Tournament Manager

Overview This position is located at Cheyenne Shadows Golf Course. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Conditions of employment Direct deposit and a Social Security Card are required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre‑employment checks in accordance with AR215-3, para.2, including a Tier1 background investigation. A physical and health assessment is required. Must obtain and maintain a Food Protection Manager Certification from an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited agency within six months of employment. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Must have a valid driver’s license. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Experience in the overall management of a golf facility and in supervising at least one function of a golf facility, such as pro shop, sale administration, planning and scheduling tournaments, or establishing administrative procedures and policies, including funds accountability, requisitioning, and supply procedures. Experience in the GHIN system and knowledge of all aspects of amateur golf rules and regulations. Knowledge of golf-related equipment and merchandise. Experience in all aspects of tournament operation. Ability to manage and maximize a tee‑sheet. A PGA Class‑A membership is preferred. Required to work an uncommon tour of duty. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner. A copy of all documents must be submitted at the time of application. Highly Preferred Applicants that meet the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. All others may be referred if management does not make a selection from the Highly Preferred list. Possess a PGA Associate Level3 certification or a PGA Professional (ClassA) certification. Previous golf tournament experience. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Essential Responsibilities Manages all aspects of the Pro Shop, Tournament Operations and outside support operations (i.e., club storage, carts, starters/monitors and driving range operations) with direct supervision over the outside supervisor and the Pro Shop staff. Assigns employees to specific duties consistent with workload and program requirements. Ensures that the entire clubhouse facility and its surroundings are maintained in a neat and clean manner at all times. Receives and resolves difficult customer complaints and customer special requests. Coordinates with the General Manager and informs assigned employees of policy changes. Supervises the planning, scheduling, coordinating and assists the event activity in all aspects of conducting an organizational, outside or golf course sponsored tournament to include registration, scoring and range and cart setup. Coordinates with the Food and Beverage Supervisor when the event includes food. Supports General Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising all facility events when necessary.
