Onboarding Specialist
Position Title: Onboarding Specialist Location: Hybrid (2-3 days a week Arlington, VA) Other Considerations:U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Required) POSITION SUMMARY The Veteran Affairs Onboarding Specialist manages the end-to-end integration process for employees and partner resources who will need access to VA systems to support their work, specifically focusing on VA compliance, background checks, and credentialing. You will facilitate communication with the VA Contracting Officer Representatives, process and submit onboarding paperwork on behalf of the applicant, coordinate IT setup, and ensure accurate and timely completion of the strict VA requirements for system access. RESPONSIBILITIES Credentialing, Privileging, and Administrative Processing:Managing allrequireddocumentation,VAand applicant communication, and verifying that fingerprint, PIV card, and other appointments are made and completedin a timely mannerfor VA project onboarding Coordination & Compliance:Ensuring compliance with VA rules, regulations, and security protocols IT & Logistics Setup:Ensuring new hires have necessary hardware, software, and system access Scheduling orientation sessions and ensuring completion of all required documentation. Serve as the primary point of contact for new employees during theirinitialVA integration period, addressing questions and providing support Collaborate with HR, IT, and department managers to prepare workstations, access credentials, and training materials prior to employee start dates Develop andmaintainonboarding materials and programs that reflect current company policies, culture, and compliance requirements Track and report onboarding metrics toidentifyareas for process improvement and enhance the overall new hire experience QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field At least 2 years of experience in employee onboarding, human resources, or a related administrative role Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple onboarding schedules and tasks simultaneously Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with new hires and internal stakeholders Proficiencywith Microsoft Office Experience working within the information technology or information services industry Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and digital onboarding platforms Experience with Veterans' services or government hiring processes preferred WORKING CONDITIONS Standard Business hours are Monday through Friday (9:00 - 5:00 ET). Occasional extended or weekend hours may be required based on operational needs. Must havereliableinternet service that allows for effective telecommuting.
