Senior Electrical Estimator

Trueline's client, a leading electrical contractor specializing in large-scale infrastructure and commercial projects, is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to join their team in the New York City area (onsite). This role leads full-cycle estimating efforts on complex projects while playing a key role in preconstruction strategy and team development.What You'll Do as the Senior Electrical Estimator:Lead detailed cost estimating for large electrical construction projectsReview drawings, specs, and bid documents to define full project scopePerform quantity takeoffs across power, lighting, and low voltage systemsBuild labor, material, and equipment cost modelsIdentify value engineering opportunities and cost efficienciesConduct risk assessments to ensure complete and competitive pricingSolicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor bidsPrepare and submit competitive proposals and support bid presentationsCollaborate with project managers and engineers through preconstructionSupport handoff to operations teams upon project awardContribute to design-build and design-assist initiativesMentor junior estimators and help refine estimating best practicesMust-Haves as the Senior Electrical Estimator:5+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably with a contractorStrong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and construction methodsExperience with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, or similarAbility to perform detailed takeoffs and cost modelingProven ability to interpret construction drawings and specificationsExperience managing multiple bids and deadlinesStrong communication, organization, and analytical skillsVendor negotiation and bid management experienceNice-to-Haves as the Senior Electrical Estimator:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related fieldExperience with BIM and digital takeoff toolsLeadership experience mentoring or managing junior team membersExposure to large-scale infrastructure or public works projectsOur Client Offers:Opportunity to work on high-profile, complex projects in a major metro marketStrong pipeline of upcoming work and long-term stabilityCollaborative, team-oriented environmentCareer growth into leadership and preconstruction strategy rolesCompetitive compensation and benefits packageTrueline and its clients are unabashed equal-opportunity employers committed to a diverse workforce.
