As we grow, we're looking for a Project Engineer who shares our commitment to precision, professionalism, and craft.
*Position Summary*
The Project Engineer will support the design, analysis, and documentation of structural engineering projects from concept through construction administration. This role works closely with the Principal Engineer and project architects/contractors, taking ownership of calculations, drawings, and coordination on assigned projects while developing toward independent project management.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Perform structural analysis and design calculations for wood, steel, and concrete structures using applicable codes (CBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NDS).
* Prepare and review structural drawings, details, and specifications in coordination with the design team.
* Support permitting efforts, including responding to plan check corrections from city and county building departments.
* Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other consultants throughout design and construction.
* Conduct site visits for existing conditions surveys and construction observation.
* Assist with construction administration, including RFIs, submittal review, and field reports.
* Maintain accurate, organized project files, calculations, and correspondence.
* Contribute to a culture of quality control through peer checks and adherence to firm design standards.
*Qualifications*
* Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required); Master's degree a plus.
* 2–6 years of professional structural engineering experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
* EIT certification required; progress toward or possession of a CA PE/SE license strongly preferred.
* Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RISA, Enercalc).
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit.
* Solid understanding of current building codes and California seismic design requirements.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* A collaborative, detail-oriented mindset and genuine interest in both the technical and creative sides of structural design.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
