Dietary Supervisor

The dietary supervisor assists the Chef in performing supervisory functions to aid in an efficient and effective dietary department. The dietary supervisor aids in planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and conducting activities of the dietary department to provide nutritious and palatable foods to the residents. The dietary supervisor is available to the residents and their families in regards to food preferences and suggestions. Acquaints self with the "likes and dislikes" of the residents.Will aid in the supervision of all work areas including preparation, production, stock rooms and the dish room area. Standards of safety and sanitation will be maintained.Provide input in menu planning and development.Participate in Performance Improvement by completing PI audits for Chef as assigned.Assist with inventories and stock rotation.Will assist with performance evaluations for dietary employees. He/She may also assist with disciplinary actions.Will have effective communication with the dietitian/diet tech and other facility disciplines to ensure team work and quality patient care.Will have at least a high school diploma.
