Concrete Form Setter - Civil Concrete Construction
Position Scope
The Concrete Form Setter is responsible for performing skilled work in carpentry and maintenance of roads and streets. This role will prepare, pour, spread, and finish concreter for slabs, floors, and sidewalks.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Lead concrete form-setting flatwork crew by assigning work duties; observing and monitoring work tasks; providing feedback to employees; evaluating work performance; and assisting employees to correct deficiencies
Read & execute plans efficiently
Coordinate with Project Superintendents, Managers, Estimators, and Operations
Identify and organize daily labor requirements
Organize mobilization and identify necessary equipment required
Lay-out, forming, reinforcement, of concrete flatwork projects
Help keep others on task
Plan a safe project site and implement work activities in a safe way, every day. Following OSHA standards
Plan for and secure needed materials and equipment; ensuring project is completed in a timely manner; inspecting work; and provide solutions to problems as needed
Maintain equipment by inspecting equipment for damage; and performing routine maintenance
Education and Work Experience
Two (2) plus years of experience as a Concrete Form Setter
ADA curb ramp construction experience preferred
Proficient in use of construction tools
Experienced in operating mini-excavators and skid steers and pouring concrete
Must have the ability to oversee site work and projects
Bilingual preferred Spanish/ English communication and written ability
Ability to make important decisions under pressure
Problem-solving skills
Ability to delegate effectively
Excellent time management skills
Detail oriented, reliable, and punctual
Valid driver’s license and clean driving history
Ability to lift 50 lbs-100lbs.
Strong work ethic
Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills and punctuality
Good communication skills and ability to work and lead a crew
Valid driver’s license
Work Environment
Active civil construction sites such as roads, bridges, utilities, foundations, and infrastructure projects
Exposure to noise, dust, heavy equipment, and changing weather conditions
