Job Title Staff Civil EngineerJob Post SummaryA Staff Civil Engineer supports the planning, design, and maintenance of infrastructure and land development projects. The role involves assisting in the design and drafting of civil engineering works such as water and wastewater systems, roads, drainage systems, subdivisions, parks, and housing developments. The engineer works collaboratively with teams and stakeholders, applies fundamental engineering principles to solve problems, and contributes to technical documentation, project planning, and project implementation. This position requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while supporting infrastructure and community development projects.Job Roles and ResponsibilitiesAssist in the planning, analysis, and design of civil engineering infrastructure systems including streets, highways, water systems, storm drainage, and grading.Prepare and develop engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.Support construction design, inspection, surveying, and contract administration activities.Utilize computer aided drafting tools and standard office software to support project development and documentation.Assist in the design, construction, and maintenance of public infrastructure projects.Collaborate with project teams to identify engineering challenges and develop practical solutions.Participate in meetings with government agencies, community organizations, and project stakeholders to support project coordination.Manage multiple assignments and work within project timelines and deadlines.Contribute to land development and infrastructure planning projects.Communicate effectively with team members, government representatives, and other stakeholders to share project information and updates.Qualifications and CertificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.Engineer in Training certification or ability to obtain certification within the first year.Knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and infrastructure design.Experience or familiarity with public infrastructure projects.Proficiency in computer aided drafting software and general computer applications including office productivity tools.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing.Valid driver's license.BenefitsHealth insurance coverageDental insuranceVision insuranceRetirement plan with employer contributionPaid holidaysPaid vacation leavePaid sick leaveFlexible spending accounts for medical and dependent careEmployee assistance programProfessional development support
