As a growing and highly collaborative company, we offer designers the opportunity to have meaningful creative input, direct cross-functional exposure, and hands-on involvement throughout the entire product lifecycle.Position Overview:We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Sweater Designer with strong private label experience to lead the development and execution of trend-driven sweaters and knitwear for casual lifestyle specialty retailers.This role is ideal for a designer who enjoys both the creative and operational sides of the business. As part of a lean, collaborative team, the Senior Designer will play an integral role in every stage of the product lifecycle — from concept development and trend research through sample execution and production follow-through.The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of yarns, gauges, stitches, sweater construction, and cut-and-sew knits, along with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. This position reports directly to the Senior Design Director of Modern and Contemporary Brands and includes oversight of an Associate Designer.The Senior Designer should be highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, collaborative, and passionate about creating commercially successful products for today’s customers.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office required.Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Design and develop seasonal private label knitwear collections incorporating the latest trends, yarns, and stitch techniquesCollaborate closely with customers and cross-functional teams to understand brand direction, seasonal themes, and product requirements including cost and quality guidelinesResearch aspirational and competitive markets to identify new trends, silhouettes, yarns, and color directionServe as a key point of communication with accounts, internal teams, support staff, and overseas partnersOversee sample coordination, development tracking, approvals, and revisions from concept through final presentationManage TP creation, knitdown approvals, and sample review processes Partner with the Associate Designer to maintain organized sample, yarn, and knit fabric librariesClosely manage customer design calendars and ensure all deadlines and milestones are metPrepare samples and presentation materials for key customer meetings and milestone reviewsContribute creative ideas and commercially viable concepts that align with customer needs and market trendsWhat We’re Looking For:Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design6+ years of experience in sweater design with strong knowledge of cut-and-sew knitsExtensive understanding of yarns, stitches, sweater techniques, and garment constructionPrivate label experience requiredExperience mentoring or managing junior design team members preferredExtended-size experience is a plusStrong communication, collaboration, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environmentHighly detail-oriented, creative, and solutions-drivenAbility to balance creative vision with strong execution and follow-throughWhy Join Us?Competitive salaryComprehensive benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), HSA/FSAPaid time off: Vacation, Sick Days, Personal Days, and Flex HolidaysShort- & Long-Term DisabilityCommuter benefitsCollaborative, inclusive company cultureOpportunities for hands-on involvement across the full design and development processVisibility and direct interaction with leadership and retail partnersA creative environment where ideas and contributions truly make an impactReady to Apply?If you’re passionate about sweater design and want to be part of a fast-paced, collaborative team where creativity and ownership go hand in hand, we’d love to hear from you.
