Senior Software Engineer, DevOps
Overview:
In this role you will design and operate the systems, tools, and infrastructure that enable the engineering org to ship code rapidly, safely, and reliably. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance our CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native deployments, and infrastructure monitoring, aligning with Tanium's mission of autonomous IT. You'll help secure and improve deployment quality, scale, and resilience across multi-environment setups. This is a hands-on, impact-driven role with a focus on automation, reliability, and rapid incident response. Responsibilities:
- Design and manage end-to-end pipeline to build, release, and test Tanium products and services
- Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments
- Deploy and maintain applications on cloud-native microservices architecture
- Collaborate with product security to build tools for vulnerability identification and remediation
- Design systems for effective monitoring, capacity planning, and rapid incident response
- Iterate on best practices to increase deployment quality and velocity
- Plan and support scheduled infrastructure improvements
Key requirements:
- 5+ years in software development, DevOps, or SRE5+ years managing cloud-based services (AWS preferred)3+ years Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi or Terraform)3+ years Docker/Kubernetes in production
- Deep understanding of networking 3+ years writing software using 3rd party APIs (Go preferred)
- Experience with Ansible, Puppet, Chef or equivalent CM tool
- Experience with Git, GitHub Actions, JIRAExperience with virtualization (VirtualBox, VMWare, vCenter)
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments
- Experience with metrics systems (Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB)
- Experience with Linux
