CTG is currently seeking a Engineering Document Control Specialist in Whiting, INto join our team.Position OverviewThe core focus of this position is engineering document control within a refinery or industrial environment. This role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of engineering drawings and technical documentation while supporting maintenance, turnaround (TAR), and project activities.This position ensures that engineering drawings and records are properly controlled throughout their lifecycle, including revisions, approvals, and metadata management within an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). The role works closely with engineering, maintenance, and project teams to maintain up-to-date and compliant drawing records in support of safe and efficient operations.While familiarity with engineering drawings and AutoCAD is important, this is not a design or drafting role, and hands-on CAD work represents a small portion of the overall responsibilities.Key ResponsibilitiesManage engineering drawings, revisions, and redline updates in accordance with company standards, procedures, and document control requirementsControl document check-in/check-out processes to ensure proper version control, accuracy, and drawing integrityMaintain metadata, audit trails, and document history within Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) such as ALIM and SharePointCoordinate drawing updates, approvals, and documentation workflows across engineering, maintenance, project, and TAR teamsServe as a key point of contact for drawing-related requests, revisions, and coordination across multiple functional groupsEnsure compliance with engineering drawing standards and document control procedures, including performing audits and managing corrective actions for non-conformanceSupport audit readiness by maintaining accurate, current, and compliant engineering documentation and recordsTrack drawing revisions, approvals, and overdue actions to ensure timely completion and process adherenceReview, organize, and validate engineering documentation including P&IDs, isometrics, and related technical drawingsPerform quality checks and audits on drawing packages and technical records to ensure completeness and accuracyPerform limited updates to CAD drawings or coordinate drafting resources as neededSupport scanning, printing, plotting, and archiving of engineering documents and drawingsProvide support for document retrieval, reporting, and records management activitiesCollaborate with engineers, designers, contractors, and operations personnel to maintain document consistency and accuracyQualifications Minimum 3 years of experience:in Information Management or an engineering-related fieldmanaging engineering drawings and technical documentsWorking knowledge of AutoCAD, with the ability to perform minor drafting updates as neededAbility to interpret redlines, sketches, and specifications and coordinate or guide required drawing updates with CAD draftersStrong understanding of engineering and drafting principles, including drawing standards and conventionsExperience working within an Electronic Document Management System preferred but not required Preferred QualificationsExperience in document control or engineering information management within manufacturing, refinery, industrial, or oil & gas environmentsFamiliarity with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), including ALIM, SharePoint, or similar platformsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings such as P&IDs, piping isometrics, and related technical documentationExperience managing drawing revisions, metadata, redlines, and approval workflowsExposure to CAD or drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD) preferred; design experience is beneficial but not requiredUnderstanding of refinery operations and engineering environments; Whiting refinery experience is a plusExperience supporting drawing quality control, audits, or standards compliance processesStrong attention to detail, organization, and focus on document accuracy and integrityProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, PDF/document management tools, and engineering file formatsStrong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and departmentsAbility to manage multiple workflows and priorities independently in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
