Mechanical Millwright ForemanAs a working Mechanical Millwright Foreman this role is responsible for leading a crew to successfully install, maintain, upgrade, dismantle, and fabricate machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings for a Heavy Industrial Contractor.To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Direct and supervise the work of a crew of one or more tradesRead blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work proceduresMove machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucksAssemble and install equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails, using hand tools and power toolsAlign and position machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers, and plumb bobs. Test machines and equipment and make necessary adjustmentsAssemble machinery and bolts, weld, rivet, or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power toolsDismantle machinery or equipment, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand toolsRepair and lubricate machinery and equipmentSelects cables, ropes, chains, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be movedAttach load with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains, to crane hookSet up braces, and rigs hoisting equipment, using hand tools and power wrenchesTakes personal responsibility for fostering a safe workplace by following safety policies and proceduresPerform work of a Millwright in addition to Foreman dutiesOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:May perform a variety of duties including those of other positions, and train others in Millwright job dutiesComplete a daily log, track time in electronic timekeeping system, and complete and upload any required job specific reporting to ProcoreComplete employee evaluations and administer disciplinary actions as directed by human resourcesEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or GED preferredThree or more years of Millwright Foreman experienceIndustrial machine experience (such as a forklift) preferredCurrent OSHA 10 or MSHA Certification preferredTWIC card preferredKNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceKnowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applicationsKnowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings, or other industrial structureKnowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and construction of industrial equipmentSkilled in the standard use of tools and equipment of the professionAbility to work successfully as a team and independently with moderate supervisionAbility to understand and follow directionsAbility to communicate effectively in both oral and written formAbility to visualize a layout by looking at plans and printsAbility to comprehend and trouble-shoot mechanical systemsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Coordinate eye-hand movements with control and precisionUse hands and fingers fully; reach for, manipulate and feel objects; stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawlClimb and maintain body balance on ladders, scaffolds, or high structures; and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction)Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 poundsStoop, lay, bend or squat for long periods of timeWORKING CONDITIONS:May be exposed to fumes, dust or other airborne particlesMay be exposed to loud noisesPosition regularly works near moving mechanical parts and vibrating machineryMay be exposed to extreme outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity or cold and wet conditionsMay be exposed to hazardous chemicalsOTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:* Travel may be required.
