Job Family Group:FacultyTime Type:Part timeDepartment/Office:Music (James Worman)Exemption Status:United States of America (Exempt)Job Description: Trinity University is seeking a Part-Time Faculty for the Fall semester to teachPrivate Voice Studio course(s).Duties And ResponsibilitiesTypical responsibilities of part-time faculty members include but are not limited to:Developing the course syllabus and ensuring that the syllabus meets departmental and University standardsPlanning, executing, and evaluating regular individual lessons for each studentWorking with department and office staff in creating and coordinating any individual student performances, including, but not limited to the creation of a printed program, reserving dates and venues, and assisting the student in the preparation of any performancesAssigning early, midterm, and final grades in compliance with University deadlinesMaintaining office hours as directed by the department chair or program director Making student accommodations as determined by the Office of Student Accessibility Services Adhering to all instructional policies as published in the Faculty Handbook and the Courses of Study BulletinAPPOINTMENT DETAILSAll Part-Time Faculty in the Music Department are hired on a per semester basis, with the possibility continuous renewal pending review by the Department ChairQualificationsEDUCATIONRequired: Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in music, or equivalent professional performance recordPreferred: Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate), preferably in musicExperiencePreferred: Private instruction at the secondary and/or collegiate levelKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesThe ideal candidate will demonstrate:Mastery of all performance elements in voiceAbility to design and implement personalized, progressive, purposeful instruction in vocal studiesAbility to design and implement assessment of student mastery in vocal studiesAbility to be a communicative, supportive, collaborative colleagueUnderstanding and commitment to musical instruction within the context of the liberal arts mission of Trinity UniversityHow To ApplyFor internal applicants, please apply through Workday using the 'Jobs Hub' application, see instructions provided here.For external applicants, when starting the application, select "Apply Manually.” Only complete fields with a red asterisk, which are required.
