Network Engineer
Description:
Command Post Technologies (CPT) has an immediate opening for a Network Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO. The selected candidate will establish network information requirements in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale networking infrastructure (CAN, WAN). Designs architecture to include the software, hardware and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces. They will analytically and systematically evaluate problems of workflows and network usage and develop appropriate corrective action.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee the integration of a proprietary cyber training network environment
Configure and support internal or external networks
Document network events, to include network diagrams, and proactively seek solutions to outages, etc.
Support the design, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of a wide variety of network routers, switches, firewalls, and IDS/IPS devices
Maintain all systems, applications, security, and network configurations, troubleshoot network performance, and coordinate repairs covered by third–party vendor maintenance agreements
Travel as needed to support FSE responsibilities outside the local area
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in a broad range of technical task assignments directly related to the primary responsibilities, including:
- Establishing Layer 1 connectivity between networking devices (Cat 5 and fiber)
- Troubleshooting Layer 1 connections with Fluke or optical testers
- Working with media converters
- Configuring TACLANEs, especially the KG-175 series
IAT Level II Security Certification (Security + CE or GSEC or SSCP or CCNA-Security)
Active TS/SCI clearance
Cisco router and switch experience
Microsoft Visio experience
Ability to work independently
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Help Desk ticketing experience
Juniper experience
