Senior Mechanical Estimator - HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection

In this role, you will develop accurate, detailed construction cost estimates. The Senior Estimator leads and trains estimating personnel while following the Preconstruction standards and processes. Your responsibilities will include:Developing accurate, detailed construction cost estimates at progressive design stagesDeveloping associated scope of work clarificationsIdentifying risk items and the associated order of magnitudeAssisting with Preconstruction resource managementAssisting with the development and utilization of the Preconstruction processes, standards and toolsAssisting the Pricing Lead and participating in estimate review meetingsContributing to cost savings exercisesAssisting with the development of bid packagesAssisting with the project construction budgetAssisting with Preconstruction-Operations Turnover MeetingsAssisting with Subcontractor and Vendor relationshipsAssisting with project procurement and buyoutCollaborating with Preconstruction LeadershipCollaborating with designers and clientsCollaborating and assisting the project operations teamFollowing project construction costs and market trendsParticipating in Preconstruction software development, maintenance, and historical costsLeading and training Estimating personnelTravel as required - 10%-20%Other duties which may be assigned as needed Education/Experience:Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent and 5 years of estimating experience preferred or 15 years relevant experience in the construction industry To thrive in this role, you'll need:HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection Mechanical Estimating experience, preparing quantity surveys and cost estimates, requiring complete knowledge of labor, material, equipment and subcontractor costsSelf-perform experienceDesign-Build and CMAR project delivery method experienceEvaluate building systems for cost effectiveness and constructabilityStrong subcontractor & vendor relationshipsAbility to forecast design and materials at a conceptual levelAbility to develop a detailed estimate a conceptual level with minimal designStrong understanding of material specifications to make informed recommendationsExperience in multiple markets including Manufacturing, Consumer Product Goods, Mission Critical, Municipal, Education, Federal, Healthcare, and Water/WastewaterEstimating software experience required, Accubid and Beck Destini Estimator preferredRevit/Navisworks, 3D model experience a plusAt Haskell, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, professional development opportunities, and more.
