Electrical Design Engineer
Job Description
A growing engineering and equipment manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of custom HVAC, refrigeration, fluid handling, and mobile equipment systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative products from concept through manufacturing, collaborating closely with engineering, production, and testing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical systems and components for HVAC, refrigeration, and liquid transfer equipment
Create and maintain 3D models, detailed drawings, assemblies, and bills of materials using SolidWorks
Develop piping layouts, fluid handling systems, and equipment packages for industrial and mobile applications
Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities
Work closely with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement design improvements
Lead product enhancement initiatives focused on reliability, performance, and cost reduction
Generate engineering documentation, product releases, and design change packages
Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and customer requirements
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
5+ years of mechanical product design experience
Strong proficiency with SolidWorks and mechanical design documentation
Experience designing HVAC, refrigeration, fluid transfer, pumping, or industrial equipment systems
Understanding of piping systems, fluid flow, and mechanical equipment integration
Experience supporting products through prototype, testing, and manufacturing phases
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with trailer-mounted, mobile, or portable equipment systems
Experience with value engineering, cost reduction, or VAVE initiatives
Familiarity with manufacturing processes including fabrication, welding, and assembly
