Senior Mechanical Engineer

Summary: Technical Source is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Morrisville, NC to design and build advanced automation equipment. In this hands-on role, you’ll take projects from concept through installation by reviewing customer requirements, creating 3D designs in SolidWorks, building and testing prototypes, and integrating mechanical components with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include overseeing equipment builds, supporting test/debug, and documenting designs. Candidates must have strong mechanical design skills, SolidWorks proficiency, GD&T knowledge, and a passion for automation technologies.Key Responsibilities:Designing custom automated machinery from concept through completionFull project ownership: purchase orders, design, prototyping, testing, debugging, handoffRequired:8+ years of industrial automation experienceProven proficiency in SolidWorksFull project lifecycleBS/MS degree in Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics degree or focus preferred)Preferred:Hands-on experience building and testing prototypesRobotic cell designExperience in commissioning, troubleshooting, testing and debuggingComponent specification (actuators, servos, sensors and pneumatics)
