IB Coach

Overview: A key aspect of the coach's role in implementing and developing the programme(s) is ensuring that the school embraces the mission of the International Baccalaureate and the learner profile. This involves ensuring that Franklin Academy is able to explicitly demonstrate how the structure of the programme(s) and implementation are furthering both the incorporation of the IB within the guidelines of the Florida Standards. Employment Schedule: 10 months, full-timeDuties and Responsibilities:Essential functions of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following:Understands how students learn and provides learning opportunities that support intellectual, social, and personal development of diverse learnersEvaluates student progress and uses formal and informal assessment strategies to determine whether students have achieved high standards and modifies instructional strategies as needed to maximize achievement.Manage all aspects of record keeping on IBIS (The IB online record keeping database)Ensure teacher adherence to IB specific curriculum, assessments, due dates and best instructional practicesMentor teachers on the Learner Profile, individual subject aims and assessment objectives, and how to embed those thoughts throughout the courseMaintain a calendar of events for students/parents, faculty and communityEvaluate training needs for faculty, both immediate and long term alongside the IB HeadEnsure the IB programmes(s) is/are in line with the school's mission and visionMaintain clear communication with parents and studentsMaintain and further develop education and marketing of the IB programme(s) to all grades, prospective families, and the community at largeBe proactive in deepening the IB experience for all, and growing the program where appropriateWorks effectively with school colleagues, parents, and the community to support students' learning and well-being.Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff.Actively engages in professional development opportunities.Performs other related duties as required.
