Capex Construction Category Specialist The Capex Construction Category Specialist is responsible for managing strategic sourcing and procurement activities for large-scale capital construction projects. This role focuses on supplier identification, contract negotiation, cost management, risk mitigation, and ensuring compliance with HSE and quality standards while aligning sourcing strategies with business objectives. Requirement/Must Have: BA/BS in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Real Estate, Finance, or related discipline. 3–5 years of experience in large-scale CAPEX construction projects and strategic sourcing. Proven track record of developing and implementing category strategies. Strong understanding of technical categories within capital projects, including building services, process equipment, construction, and technical contractors. Strong project management and execution skills. Proficiency in MS Office tools including MS Project and MS Excel. Strong organizational and negotiation skills. Experience: Conducting market research and supplier analysis within the CAPEX construction industry. Managing end-to-end sourcing processes including supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management. Planning and tracking procurement activities, budgets, savings forecasts, and KPIs. Implementing sourcing strategies aligned with business strategy using continuous improvement methodologies. Contracting in accordance with quality, commercial, and company guidelines to minimize risk. Adapting corporate contractual frameworks to local business needs. Ensuring HSE, regulatory, and quality compliance throughout project phases. Responsibilities: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability criteria. Manage supplier negotiations and contract lifecycle management. Oversee procurement planning, cost control, and performance tracking. Provide ongoing supplier oversight and maintain standard purchase contract terms and conditions. Ensure alignment with company directives and regulatory requirements. Collaborate within a matrix organization to drive project success. Support continuous improvement in sourcing processes. Skills: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Superior negotiation capabilities in multicultural and multi-business environments. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with limited oversight. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of SAP Ariba is an asset. Qualification And Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Real Estate, Finance, or related field. 3–5 years of relevant CAPEX construction and sourcing experience. ISM Certification is a plus. Client-side experience strongly preferred. Multilingual skills (Spanish or other foreign language) are a plus.
