Our small-company culture is central to who we are--every employee has a voice, and every role makes a direct impact. The Opportunity We're seeking a hands-on Controller to lead our financial operations and help shape RDC's continued success. This position touches every part of our business, from core accounting and financial reporting to compliance, benefits, and employee ownership. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable posting journal entries and advising leadership-someone who enjoys the variety and ownership that comes with working in a small business. The Controller role is in office. Key Responsibilities:• Lead the monthly close process and prepare accurate financial statements and reports• Maintain treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting and banking relationships• Develop and maintain company financial policies and procedures• Ensure internal controls are in place to safeguard company and employee assets• Oversee all insurance renewals, external audits, and annual benefit plan filings• Serve as ESOP administrator and liaison with the annual valuation firm• Administer 401 (k) plan and serve as Benefits Administrator for the company• Supervise and mentor one Accounting Specialist• Post journal entries and support general ledger accuracy• Support strategic planning with financial insight and data analysis• Communicate regularly with the company President and collaborate across departments• Interact professionally with external stakeholders, including auditors, brokers, and advisorsRole DescriptionRDC Services Inc. is seeking a full-time Controller to join our team on-site at our Phoenix, AZ location. The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, including managing financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring tax compliance, and monitoring internal controls. Responsibilities include overseeing accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, conducting financial analyses, and collaborating with management to support decision-making. The role involves maintaining compliance with federal and state financial regulations and driving efficiency in financial processes.Qualifications• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience• Prior supervisory or management experience required• Strong working knowledge of Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)• Experience with Sage 50 or similar ERP systems preferred• Familiarity with job-based or project-based accounting helpful• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization• Experience with ESOPs, benefit administration, or small company operations a plus• A mindset of ownership, flexibility, and problem-solving is essentialProficiency in accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting processesExpertise in managing accounts payable and receivable, and experience with tax complianceStrong analytical skills for financial forecasting and performance evaluationFamiliarity with internal controls and regulatory compliance standardsExcellent organizational and problem-solving skillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA certification is a plus)Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systemsStrong leadership and team management capabilityExperience in the industrial or distribution sector is preferred
