Electrical Field Project Manager (Owner's Rep) - Data Center Construction
The Electrical Field Project Manager serves as the Owner’s Representative providing daily, on-site oversight of electrical construction activities for mission-critical data center campus developments. This role is heavily field-focused and responsible for ensuring electrical scopes are executed safely, in accordance with contract documents, and aligned with the overall project schedule. The Electrical Field PM works closely with the General Contractor, electrical trade partners, vendors, commissioning teams, and client stakeholders to drive installation quality, field coordination, and issue resolution across medium and high-voltage electrical systems. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience • 5–10+ years of experience supporting or managing electrical construction scopes on projects of increasing complexity • Strong experience with field-based electrical construction management or electrical supervision roles • Data center or mission-critical facility experience strongly preferred • Working knowledge of medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems and infrastructure • Strong understanding of construction workflows, sequencing, and field coordination • Proficiency with Procore or similar construction management platforms preferred • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills • Ability to operate effectively in an active construction environment with daily site presence Duties and Responsibilities: Electrical Field Oversight & CoordinationServe as the Owner’s Representative for all assigned electrical scopes with a strong daily field presencePerform routine site walks to verify installation progress, workmanship quality, and compliance with drawings and specificationsCoordinate closely with the General Contractor and electrical trade partners to address field issues, constraints, and sequencing impactsSupport electrical scope planning, execution, and coordination across campus-wide construction activitiesIdentify potential constructability issues early and elevate risks to project leadership with recommended mitigation strategiesSupport electrical work in live or operational environments, including coordination of shutdowns, tie-ins, and safety proceduresSchedule & Construction ExecutionReview electrical schedules and look-ahead plans, validating alignment with field progress and installation readinessTrack electrical installation milestones and report progress, delays, or constraints to project leadershipCoordinate electrical work sequencing with adjacent trades to support efficient construction flowSupport development and execution of MOPs for critical electrical work affecting operationsCost & Commercial SupportAssist with review of contractor pay applications by validating work-in-place during field walksSupport change order reviews for electrical scopes, including scope validation and field impact assessmentAct as a field liaison for OFCI electrical equipment, supporting delivery coordination, staging, and installation readinessQuality & Safety ManagementEnforce project quality control and safety requirements through consistent field oversightPerform regular safety observations and support client safety program complianceVerify electrical installations meet contract requirements, applicable codes, and quality standardsSupport accurate safety reporting and issue escalation as neededDocument Control & ReportingSupport documentation accuracy by providing field input for RFIs, submittals, and change documentationMaintain field notes, observations, and progress updates for internal reportingParticipate in and support OAC and field coordination meetingsCommissioning & Closeout SupportSupport commissioning activities through field coordination, issue resolution, and readiness validationAssist with commissioning agent onboarding and coordination of electrical testing activitiesSupport electrical closeout activities including punchlist resolution and turnover documentationPermitting & ComplianceAssist with compliance related to electrical permits, inspections, and AHJ coordinationSupport permit tracking and inspection readiness for electrical scopesBenefits Offered:• Medical insurance • Dental insurance • Vision insurance • 401(k) retirement plan with 4% KALCON match when an employee contributes at least 5% • 15 days of paid time off • 8 paid national holidays • Reimbursement for professional licenses and certificationsSubmission Requirements:At a minimum, the candidate’s professional resume must include the following:• List of all educational achievements • List of all professional licenses or certificates • List of awards received • Detailed employment history with each company including: – Name and contact information of the firm or agency – Start date and end date (month and year) – Positions heldAt KALCON, we are committed to creating an inclusive, diverse, and equitable workplace where every individual is respected and valued.
