This position provides a wonderful relationship-building experience, and we need volunteers from all around the Hugo area! Below are just some of the fun activities you can enjoy with your assigned patient -Make scheduled visits to the patient/family offering support, encouragement, and help.Sit and visit with the patient for companionship, providing respite for family members.Make crafts with the patient and/or read to them, or watch TV /movies with them.Report patient observations and reactions regarding changes in patient status to the Volunteer Coordinator, who will in turn contact the appropriate nursing staff member.Document your visits on a Volunteer Visit Note.Attend in-services and annual memorial services.Be recognized at our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner!Practice infection control and universal precautions to ensure the safety of the patient.Live the PLUS* Standards in the care of patients, tasks, and interactions with others.Thanks so much for your interest - we look forward to talking with you soon!PLUS Standards include Performance, Leadership, Understanding, and Service.This is a volunteer opportunity provided by VolunteerMatch, in partnership with LinkedIn for Good.
