Director of Events and Education

Job DescriptionThe Missouri Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA) is seeking a detail-oriented, people-forward events professional to lead the planning, coordination and execution of all association events and continuing education programs. This is a hands-on role with high visibility and real impact for Missouri's independent agency community; insurance knowledge is a plus, but not required.BenefitsTotal Compensation: $55,000-$80,000 (base salary $55,000-$75,000 plus potential for incentive bonuses)Annual cost-of-living and performance-based raises, with the possibility of additional mid-year performance increases401(k) matchEmployer paid health, dental and life insurancePaid vacation and sick leavePaid holidaysAdditional paid time off during the summerCafeteria planResponsibilitiesPlan and administer two annual events with trade shows, social events and education sessionsPlan and administer three smaller events and numerous education courses for membersNegotiate and contract with hotels and other venues to host events and education programsArrange speakers for events and courses, with consultation of event committeesCoordinate with all vendors who provide services for events and education coursesWork with association members and other interested parties to conceptualize new opportunities for education of insurance agentsDevelop and implement tools for attracting vendors, exhibitors and sponsors to/for association events and membershipSupervision of one staff memberRequirementsExperience planning and executing professional events (conferences, trade shows and/or education programs); 5+ years' experience preferredDemonstrated ability to lead cross-functional planning, manage timelines and keep stakeholders alignedExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including vendor negotiation and speaker/partner coordinationStrong budget ownership experience (building event budgets, tracking spending and delivering within targets)Comfortable supervising others and improving processes to elevate attendee, exhibitor and sponsor experiencesPreferredAssociation or continuing education experience; familiarity with CRM/event registration platforms; prior exposure to insurance or financial services.J-18808-Ljbffr
