AI Engineering Associate Director
Overview
In this role you will design, build, and deploy AI and generative AI solutions for healthcare, life sciences, and public sector clients. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable, secure, and value-driven outcomes, from PoCs to production-ready assets. You’ll contribute to client delivery, accelerators, and reusable components while balancing speed with responsible AI practices. This is a hands-on engineering leadership position with impact across sales, delivery, and technology strategy.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement AI and generative AI solutions across healthcare, life sciences and public sector domainsBuild AI-enabled applications, services, APIs, copilots, chat interfaces, dashboards, and decision-support toolsDevelop solutions using modern AI engineering patterns (retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, vector search, prompt engineering, model orchestration, agentic workflows)Collaborate with solution architects, data scientists, cloud engineers, software developers, and business stakeholdersBuild and maintain data pipelines, integration services, feature preparation workflows, knowledge bases, and model-ready datasetsIntegrate AI models and services from cloud providers, commercial providers, open-source frameworks, and enterprise platformsCreate proofs of concept, prototypes, demos, and technical assets for feasibility and client valueSupport the sales cycle with demo environments, technical walkthroughs, proposals, estimates, and reusable componentsDevelop reusable accelerators, code libraries, templates, prompt assets, deployment patterns, and implementation playbooksApply responsible AI practices (model evaluation, guardrails, privacy controls, bias testing, explainability, monitoring, auditability, human-in-the-loop design)Collaborate with security, privacy, legal, compliance, and architecture teams to meet enterprise and client requirementsParticipate in testing, debugging, performance tuning, deployment, documentation, and handoffStay current on emerging AI technologies and translate innovations into practical solutions
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience6+ years of experience in software/data/AI engineering or technical consultingHands-on experience building AI, ML, generative AI, analytics, automation, or data-driven appsExperience with generative AI patterns (prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, vector databases, LLM integration, API-based orchestration)Proficiency in Python and SQL with data/AI librariesExperience with Azure, AWS, or Google CloudExperience with APIs, databases, data pipelines, structured/unstructured data, enterprise integration patternsFamiliarity with Git, CI/CD, testing, code review, documentation, containerization, deploymentAbility to communicate with technical and non-technical audiencesStrong collaboration skills across cross-functional teamscollaborationclear communicationclient-focused storytellingPythonSQLcloud platforms (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud)
