HR Generalist
Job Title: HR GeneralistJob DescriptionThe HR Generalist supports the full employee lifecycle by managing employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, benefits administration, and HR compliance. This role works closely with HR leadership and supervisors to create a positive, engaging work environment while ensuring adherence to employment laws, internal policies, and best practices. The HR Generalist serves as a trusted resource for employees and contributes to key HR projects and initiatives that strengthen organizational culture and effectiveness.ResponsibilitiesServe as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflicts, providing timely and effective resolutions while maintaining confidentiality.Promote a positive work environment by encouraging open communication and proactively addressing employee needs and issues.Support the recruitment process by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, screening candidates, and participating in interviews.Assist in the selection of candidates by coordinating interviews, gathering feedback, and supporting hiring decisions.Facilitate a smooth onboarding experience for new hires by ensuring completion of all required paperwork, coordinating orientations, and supporting initial training.Collaborate with HR leadership and supervisors to develop and implement performance management strategies, including goal setting and performance review processes.Provide guidance to supervisors and employees on performance-related issues and assist in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans.Identify training needs across the organization and coordinate relevant training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.Assist HR leadership in creating career development plans and supporting succession planning initiatives.Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks, ensuring accurate and timely processing.Support HR leadership in conducting salary benchmarking and compensation analysis to help maintain competitive and equitable pay practices.Assist in the development, communication, and implementation of HR policies and procedures.Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations by maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation.Support employee engagement efforts by helping design and coordinate initiatives, events, surveys, and programs that strengthen organizational culture and retention.Participate in HR projects focused on process improvements, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and organizational restructuring efforts.Collaborate with payroll-related processes as needed, ensuring accurate and timely flow of HR data to support payroll administration.Essential Skills1+ years of experience in human resources roles, with a strong foundation in employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, and HR operations.Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.Demonstrated experience handling employee relations issues with discretion and professionalism.Strong understanding of onboarding processes and documentation requirements.Experience supporting or coordinating benefits administration activities.Proficiency in PayChex for HR or payroll-related processes.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain positive working relationships.Proven problem-solving abilities, with sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive matters.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsProfessional HR certifications such as SHRM-CP (SHRM Certified Professional) are advantageous but not required.Experience supporting performance management processes, including goal setting and performance reviews.Experience coordinating training and development programs for employees.Exposure to diversity and inclusion initiatives or organizational change projects.Ability to interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, and employment regulations in practical situations.High attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining employee records and HR documentation.Comfort working with HR systems and technology to support data entry, reporting, and process improvements.Work EnvironmentThis role operates in a professional office environment that emphasizes collaboration, open communication, and a supportive culture. The HR Generalist regularly uses standard office technologies and software, including PayChex and the Microsoft Office Suite, to manage HR processes and documentation. Work typically follows standard business hours, with occasional flexibility required to support interviews, trainings, or HR events.
