Make an Impact with Healthcare Technology Jobs That Matter The Director of Mechatronics will lead the mechatronics team to perform hardware design, electrical, mechanical and electronics systems engineering for our Pneumatic Tube Systems (PTS). This role will define, maintain and execute the mechatronics development process and roadmap in conjunction with product management. Make an impact Product DevelopmentPerform all mechatronics engineering including electronics, electrical and mechanical for Pneumatic Tube Systems (PTS) including but not limited to: Carriers, stations, transfer units, blowers, sensors, control boards, all hardwareMechatronics architecture aligning local and global commonality across the transport automation product lineOwn the mechatronics engineering development processResponsible for product safety and certifications, i.e. ULCreate technical content for assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting and installation of productsDevelop PTS system topologies and requirements for system designDevelop PTS system acceptance criteria for commissioningEstimate proposed engineering projects for scope, time, materials and costsProject management of engineering projectsOther duties as assigned Product Technical Support Lead the engineering team to resolve all Tier 3 issues related to mechatronics. Engineering Team LeadershipCreate and maintain an open and collaborative work environment in accordance with Swisslog core values, competence, collaboration, commitment and clarityCoach, mentor and develop the engineering teamCreate and maintain a department succession plan to ensure business continuityCreate and manage department budget What you need to succeedBS of Engineering in electronics, electrical or mechatronics.10 years of electromechanical engineering experience5 years engineering management experience leading teams 5-15 engineersProven engineering leadership capability developing and mentoring engineering teamStrong written and verbal communication up, down and across the organizationCapable to estimate, plan and project manage projects up to $1M dollarsBasic understanding of business finance and business case developmentExperience of product development through two cycles of the complete product life cycle, from cradle to grave for a mechatronics systemData analysisRoot cause analysis, 8D and 5 WhyDesign Failure Mode Effect Analysis, DFMEAFamiliar with product testing and validation Desirable but not Essential:6 sigma green belt / black beltExperience with the health care industryExperience with transport automation Salary range for this position is $135,000,000 - $170,000, plus bonus. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skillset.
