Our expert team is committed to supporting clients at every stage of their recovery journey.Role DescriptionThis full-time, on-site Accounting Specialist role is based in Milwaukee, WI. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, including preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing journal entries, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role requires proficiency in accounting software, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and collaborating with internal teams to support the organization's financial operations. Position Responsibilities Description 1.      Accounting Transaction Reporting-   Complete day-to-day financial transactions including accounts payable/receivable, cash flow, expense and credit card transactional reporting. Maintain Bill.com database including Vendors and Spend and Expense reporting and reconciling 2.      Budget and Grant Management – Assist in budget monitoring as daily transactions occur. Confirm general ledger coding on invoices received for payment.   3.      Policies & Procedures - Update financial policies and procedures developed by the Accounting Manager with the intent to ensure strong internal controls and regulatory compliance. Maintain clear documentation of finance-related transactions and procedures for continuity of operations, audit readiness, and staff reference. Look for areas with room for improved efficiency and communicate this with the Accounting Manager. 4.      Billing & Receivables – In collaboration with the Billing Team and 3rd party consultants, will assist with client billing, denials management, and any other collections related activity. This may include residential, outpatient, out of county, and DOC billing activities and tracking. 5.      Other duties as assigned.  Educational Requirements  High School Diploma Some college or relevant work experiencePreferred  Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.  Preferred Experience Experience processing financial transactions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, billing, etc. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs) ·     Comfort with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)·        Experience with Accounting software (SAP, PeopleSoft, Intacct)·        Ability to type proficiently and perform some data entry ·        Ability to work independently and in a team environment·        Attention to detail and strong organizational skills·        Commit to the organization’s mission, vision, and guiding principles·        Dedication to improving processes and systems while maintaining the integrity of financial information·        Knowledge of federal grant compliance a plus Physical RequirementsMust be able to:·        All Meta House staff are required to provide proof of vaccination for MMR, Varicella, and annual flu shot.·        Adherence to a non-smoking work environment.Able to:·        Tolerate occasional hot or cold days.·        Alternate sitting or standing for extended periods of time at will.·        Lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and 40 pounds on occasion.·        Ascend and descend stairs using feet and legs.·        Bend, stoop, twist, squat, and kneel to perform essential functions.·        Reach overhead, and at or below shoulder level.·        Read and enter text or data into a computer or other system.·        Seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with your hands.·        Touch, pick, punch or otherwise work with fingers.·        Hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds to communicate with clients and/or colleagues.·        Express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and convey detailed spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.·        See clearly at approximately 20 inches or less including use of computers or tablet.·        Visually identify clients and others for reasons including, but not limited to security, presence in the building.·        Valid Wisconsin driver’s license preferred·        Access to personal vehicle for work purposes preferred
