JOB SUMMARY
The Fleet Manager assists in administering and coordinating motor vehicle fleet operations. Qualified candidates understand OSHA, DOT, fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. The Fleet Manager prepares and maintains accurate records of vehicles, insurance, and required regulatory filings and reporting. They may also assist with safety training and communication programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage company fleet and drivers using real-time tracking in the Motive system
Supervise preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs, and ensure compliance with safety standards (OSHA, DOT)
Develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs
Ensure adherence to federal/state regulations, manage driver records (licenses, training), and monitor driver behavior (speeding, overloading)
Prepare reports on fleet performance, fuel usage, safety scores, and accident trends
Ensure motor vehicle records are current for all company-approved drivers
Manage registration, titles, insurance, inspections, renewals, and certifications for fleet and drivers
Train, coach, and manage fleet drivers
Provide guidance and support to management and employees on fleet-related matters
Maintain all hard copy files for the company fleet
Maintain all vehicle documents for fixed asset retention, including transferring vehicles between locations

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience required
5 years of experience in fleet management, transport, or a related field
Knowledge of OSHA and DOT standards and other regulatory requirements is required
Proficiency in safety management systems and reporting tools
Strong organizational, problem-solving skills, and communication skills
Excellent leadership skills, including goal setting, motivation, and training
Knowledge of fleet management software (Motive), GPS, and reporting tools
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) for reporting, documentation, data analysis, and communication
WORK CONDITIONS
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs. It also often requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.
