Middleware Application / Process Lead

Role: Middleware Application / Process Lead Location: Aberdeen, MD / Remote Education/Certifications: N/A Years of Experience: 10+ years’ professional experience in IT or related field Clearance Level & Investigation: Tier 3 or equivalent (ADP/IT-II) IT Level (AR 25-2): IT-II or NACLC IA Cert Level (DoD 8570.01): IAT Level II Computing Environment Certifications: Relevant certification from nationally recognized authority (preferred) Job Description: Oversee day-to-day maintenance and support of mid-tier applications running on mainframe. Monitor application performance and address issues proactively to minimize downtime. Manage bug fixes, patches, and updates to ensure applications remain secure and functional. Ensure seamless integration between data warehouse, applications, and Oracle DB. Manage middleware components, such as transaction processing systems (e.g., MQ Series) and data pipelines. Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues to maintain data flow and system interoperability. Monitor application performance using tools and metrics to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies. Optimize application configurations and middleware settings to improve performance and scalability. Conduct regular health checks and audits of application environment. Lead resolution of incidents and service requests. Diagnoses and troubleshoots complex technical issues, ensuring timely resolution. Act as escalation point for unresolved issues and coordinate with other teams or vendors as needed. Manage changes to mid-tier applications, including updates, enhancements, and configuration modifications. Ensure all changes are documented, tested, and approved before implementation. Maintain version control and configuration management to ensure consistency and traceability. Ensure environment complies with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Implement security measures to protect applications and their data from unauthorized access or threats. Stay updated on emerging security risks and best practices to safeguard applications. Test and validate recovery procedures to ensure readiness for unexpected events. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure business continuity in case of application disruptions. Required Minimum Experience: 10+ years of overall professional experience in IT or related field. Requires knowledge and expertise with the following: Application Maintenance and Support for Mid-Tier Systems; System Integration and Middleware Management; Performance Monitoring and Optimization; Incident Management and Troubleshooting; Change Management and Configuration Control; Troubleshooting and Incident Management; Documentation and Reporting; Capacity Planning and Scalability; Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity. Required Clearance: Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC).
