Cheerleader Coach - Downtown Colorado Springs, CO 80903Overview Salary Range $17.00 - $17.00 HourlyDescription The YMCA of the Pikes Peak region is looking for a compassionate and patient Cheerleading Coach to join our Sports program and help us to provide a safe and nurturing environment. The responsibilities of the Cheerleading Coach include performing pre/post game duties to ensure facilities are ready and safe for league play. Applicants should be familiar with the rules and bylaws of the respective sport. The Cheerleading Coach will provide oversight of practices and cheering at league games. Candidates must have the ability to quickly evaluate information and make decisions and judgment calls. Applicants must be able to resolve conflicts and stay calm while handling disputes. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Cheerleading Coach is accountable for maintaining a safe and orderly environment in the facility being used during sports practices and games, as well as enforcing all of the rules of the sport and those established by the YMCA. The Cheerleading Coach will provide quality instructions to participants, and enforce league rules and YMCA policies. This individual will have the ability to handle coaches, players and parent questions and concerns in a professional manner.Responsibilities Maintain control in facilities being used at all timesGive leadership to youthDevelop and maintain communication with the parents, players and coachesKeep current on all schedule changesMaintain regular communication with the Sports DirectorSet-up and take down equipmentRespond to all emergencies in a prompt mannerResponsible for cleanliness of facility sitesAttend all training and meetings relating to the positionMaintain a courteous, friendly attitude and be a positive role modelQualifications Must be 16 years of ageMust possess knowledge of the rules of Cheerleading and a willingness to learn other sport fundamentals as necessaryMust demonstrate courtesy and service to program participants and maintain a professional appearance.Must be able to work evenings and weekends
