Assistant Restaurant Manager

Opportunity:The Osthoff Resort & Spa is an award-winning AAA Four Diamond property located on the beautiful shores of Elkhart Lake. Renowned for our warm Midwest hospitality, we offer a variety of culinary experiences, including casual beach-side fare to elevated dining. We are seeking a talented Assistant Restaurant Manager to help with restaurant operations and deliver memorable dining experiences that match the beauty and prestige of our resort.In this hands-on position, you will oversee front and back-of-house operations of your ‘home’ restaurant, while also understanding operations for the other restaurant. You will lead a team with a variety of experience levels and work on continuously improving their skills. You will ensure the highest standards of quality, consistency, and service, playing a key role in the guest experience.The Assistant Restaurant Manager position is a full-time position, which includes eligibility for our complete benefit package, including paid vacation time, health insurance, 401K plus company match, resort-wide discounts, and more!Duties and Responsibilities:Display exceptional leadership by providing a positive work environment and demonstrating a dedicated and professional approach to managementCreate schedules and manage payroll for home restaurantProvide on-the-job training for new team membersIncrease overall knowledge and expertise for all team members by continual and consistent trainingProvide coaching to employees as appropriateEnsure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant by hosting, bussing, bartending, expediting, and serving as neededStay up to date with the procedures/menus/etc. in other restaurant to be able to fill in as neededMotivate and inspire team members by creating value and contagious energyAssist Manager of Restaurants and F&B Director with fine-tuning systems to enhance guests’ experience and create consistencyUpdate POS system when neededFill out daily reports/bank deposit/cash drawerAssist with monthly inventory and weekly ordering as neededReview daily checklists and maintenance schedulesReport any equipment maintenance or replacement needsEnsure all food safety and sanitation protocols are strictly followedAttend meetings as neededAll other duties as assignedSkills/Requirements: Education: High School Diploma3+ years of experience in a restaurant setting with proven leadership experienceStrong leadership and communication skillsPassion for hospitality and a commitment to creating guests for lifeExcellent interpersonal skills for diplomatically handling team members and guestsAbility to work under pressure and make decisions confidentlySkilled trainer of service technique and customer satisfaction skillsKnowledge of cuisine, wine, beer, and liquorMust have or be willing to obtain a food safety certification and bartending licenseMaintain positive can-do attitude, and inspire that trait in othersPossess great time management skills, with the ability to think on the spotMust have flexibility in time to meet the business needs of the department and resortWhy Work at the Osthoff Resort & Spa?The Osthoff Resort & Spa’s mission is to deliver the best Midwest resort experience to our guests.
