Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant, MagTec Alaska, LLC – Kenai, AKMagTec Alaska is seeking a Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations with a focus on accounts receivable, payroll, project cost tracking, and general ledger cleanup. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining accurate financial data, improving day-to-day accounting processes, and supporting consistent project cost visibility across operations.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and support accounts receivable and payroll cycles, ensuring accuracy and timelinessSupport project cost tracking and codingEnsure accurate division and project coding (dimensions)Assist with job cost visibility and consistencyIdentify and help resolve coding and cost discrepanciesPerform general ledger cleanup and maintenanceClean up historical balances and inconsistenciesImprove structure and accuracy of GL accountsManage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, tracking, disposals, and depreciationPrepare and post journal entries, including payroll, accruals, and adjustmentsPerform account reconciliations and resolve discrepanciesAssist with month-end close through reconciliations and data accuracyWork with operations and accounting to improve data accuracy and process consistencyIdentify and implement practical process improvementsRecommended QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Engineering, Math, or related field– OR –3+ years of relevant experiencein accounting functions such as AR, payroll, or general ledgerStrong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliationsExperience with payroll and/or accounts receivableExposure to project cost control preferredExperience with fixed assets and depreciation preferredProficiency in Excel and accounting systems (Business Central a plus)Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently in a hands-on environmentWhat We’re Looking ForSomeone who can keep things accurate, organized, and consistentComfortable in a hands-on, operations-focused roleAble to identify issues and fix them without overcomplicating solutionsReliable, detail-oriented, and accountableWhy This RoleThis position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial data and improving the day-to-day function of accounting operations.
