About the job
THE JOB WILL BE BETWEEN ORANGE COUNTY - SAN DIEGO & SAN BERNARDINO
Depending on the job and location of the job, you will most likely travel either during the weeks, or for a few weeks straight, the scheduling is flexible and will be agreed with you and your manager depending on the circumstances and the job.
$18-28 per hour, depending on your experience.
There are no benefits now, but it is scheduled to be implemented in 2025.
You will most likely work in a team between 2 and 6 people.
You can be either a 1099 or a W2.
The first long-term project is located between Orange County, San Diego and San Bernardino.
Other job assignments can be across the nation depending on what you and your manager agree to.
Ability to work in confined spaces and outside in all weather conditions and at various hours of the day/night.
Project can go over time and require working longer shifts, including evenings and nights, and sometimes weekends until issues and jobs are resolved and/or completed.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
Must have a valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
If traveling, $60 per diem will be paid to cover food and travel time to the location. The company pays for lodging, gas, flights, etc.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities and duties might be, but are not limited to, the following:
The job is to blow fiber cable through conduit which consists of a team where some people handle fiber cable to place it and feed it properly and carefully to avoid complications. Other people will manage the machine.
Part of work the job will be on Railroad sites which will require passing background and other tests.
Learns and applies safety measures relating to motor vehicle operations and other field-related matters, like entering manholes.
Installs and repairs all wiring/cabling and hardware required to support all company communications services.
Effectively communicate with utility reps, and company personnel regarding underground facilities.
Performs light excavation with a shovel to expose, and fix if needed, buried cables.

Working Conditions
Outdoor working environment with seasonal heat, cold, and other inclement weather conditions.
Driving company-assigned vehicles to/from work sites in a safe and responsible manner during adverse weather conditions, heavy/light traffic, or at night.
Work sites include manholes, hand holes, etc. and will involve extensive walking on diverse types of terrain, working around objects and machinery in construction areas, and may require confined space entry and the ability to work in elevated areas.
Work sites can include road rights-of-way, on-road work (with traffic control provided), and railroads.
Regular use of hands and fingers to operate specialized equipment and tools; reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally, bending at the waist; standing and or walking for extended periods of time; lifting objects up to 50 pounds or lifting more than 75 pounds with tool aids.
