Junior Database Developer
What is the position?The Intern Junior Database Developer supports the enhancement and maintenance of Oracle database applications by working within an established development environment. This role focuses on improving existing systems, writing and testing database code, and collaborating with experienced developers while building technical skills in enterprise application development.What are the responsibilities?As an Intern Junior Database Developer, you will:Develop and update Oracle database components, including SQL scripts, PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, and related objects.Assist with enhancements, fixes, and maintenance for existing database applications.Perform unit testing and validate code changes before they move through the review process.Prepare technical documentation and organize code for peer review and deployment.Work alongside senior developers to improve application performance, stability, and maintainability.Learn and follow established development standards, deployment procedures, and best practices.What are the requirements?Progress toward or completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).0-2 years of experience in software development, database development, or technical application support preferred.Working knowledge of SQL and Oracle PL/SQL.Understanding of software development principles, debugging, testing, and version control.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical work clearly.Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage tasks in a structured, deadline-driven environment.Exposure to Oracle development tools or enterprise database environments is a plus.You would be really happy here if:You are left-brained and understand that the devil’s in the details, proactively seeking them out and understanding how they contribute to the whole of a project.Roadblocks don’t intimidate you.
