Actuarial Sr Consultant, General Liability Pricing (Agribusiness & E&S) – RemoteIf you're a P&C actuarial professional looking to own a portfolio, influence general liability pricing strategy, and work with modern tools in a highly collaborative environment, this role is designed for you.Key ResponsibilitiesTake lead actuarial responsibility for one of Nationwide's portfolios, driving pricing strategy for a complex, growing book of business.Serve as the primary actuarial contact and spokesperson for your portfolio with underwriting, product, finance, reserving, and leadership partners.Translate complex pricing analysis into clear recommendations that shape rate actions, underwriting strategy, and overall profitability.Step into a post-modernization actuarial environment with better data, tools, and processes to support deeper portfolio analytics.Bring fresh ideas and challenge the status quo; actively re-evaluate methodologies and seek smarter pricing and risk management approaches.Use modern analytics tools such as Databricks, Python, SQL, R, and advanced Excel to build, refine, and automate pricing analyses and dashboards.Act as the face of pricing for the portfolio – leading discussions, presenting results, and framing "so what" for senior leaders.Gain visibility across underwriting, product, finance, reserving, and other actuarial teams, positioning this role for future actuarial leadership.Partner with a collaborator who supports day-to-day tasks, freeing you to focus on higher-level analytics, storytelling, and strategy.Work on an admitted agribusiness portfolio, partnering closely with a filings team on rate filings and DOI interactions.Help shape and support filings by providing actuarial expertise, rate indications, and technical rationale without owning every detail alone.Participate in a highly collaborative, mostly remote team open to candidates across the United States.Enjoy a startup-like culture within a large stable company: open to experimentation, continuous improvement, and new perspectives.Benefit from strong cross-functional partnerships and a supportive environment that values learning, innovation, and shared problem-solving.Preferred BackgroundP&C actuarial pricing experience in general liability or related commercial lines, ideally with exposure to agribusiness, E&S, or other specialty portfolios.Progress toward or completion of ACAS/FCAS; near-ACAS candidates with relevant GL pricing experience are welcome.Proven analytical and communication skills, with a track record of turning data into clear business stories and influencing decisions.Comfort working in an evolving environment, owning outcomes, and proactively seeking better ways to price, analyze, and manage complex books of business.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision coverage.Life insurance.Short-term and long-term disability coverage.Paid time off, including 18 days for new hires, nine paid holidays, 8 hours of Lifetime paid time off, and 8 hours of Unity Day paid time off.401(k) with company match.Company-paid pension plan.Business casual attire.Additional benefits not listed.Equal Employment OpportunityNationwide is an equal-opportunity employer.
