No problem, we can give you the support and guidance you need to become a successful pediatric PTA.Position SummaryThe Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) supports licensed Physical Therapists in delivering high-quality, developmentally appropriate physical therapy services to medically complex and developmentally delayed children in a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) setting. The PTA works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team to promote mobility, strength, functional independence, and overall quality of life for children with chronic conditions, disabilities, and medical fragility.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement physical therapy treatment plans as prescribed by the supervising Physical TherapistProvide one-on-one and group therapeutic interventions focusing on gross motor development, balance, mobility, posture, and strengthAssist children with neuromuscular, orthopedic, genetic, and developmental conditionsMonitor and document patient progress, tolerance, and response to therapy interventions in compliance with Medicaid and AHCA standardsMaintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)Collaborate with nursing staff, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and caregivers to ensure coordinated careAssist with positioning, adaptive equipment use, gait training, and mobility aidsEnsure therapy areas and equipment are safe, clean, and developmentally appropriateEducate caregivers and staff on therapeutic positioning and mobility techniques as directedTravel between PPEC locations as scheduled to meet patient care needsComply with HIPAA, infection control, safety policies, and PPEC regulationsWork EnvironmentPediatric medical daycare (PPEC) settingChildren with chronic illnesses, developmental delays, feeding tubes, mobility devices, and complex medical needsStanding, bending, lifting, and active engagement throughout the workdayEqual Opportunity StatementLittle Angels PPEC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to providing a diverse, inclusive, and supportive work environment.RequirementsRequired QualificationsAssociate's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant programActive Florida Physical Therapy Assistant license in good standingPediatric or early intervention experience preferredExperience with medically complex or special-needs children strongly preferredCurrent BLS/CPR certificationAbility to lift, transfer, and assist pediatric patients safelyReliable transportation and ability to work across multiple locationsPreferred Skills & AttributesCompassionate, patient-centered approach to careStrong communication and documentation skillsAbility to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare teamKnowledge of developmental milestones and pediatric motor disordersFamiliarity with Medicaid-based documentation and compliance standardsFlexibility, professionalism, and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environmentBenefitsCompetitive salaryTraining and professional development opportunities401(k) Retirement planHealth, Dental and Vision InsurancePaid Time Off
