Commercial Painter / Striping Technician

DescriptionWe are seeking seasonal part-time Commercial Painters with striping expertise and the ability to perform specialty painting on large-scale structures, including roller coasters and amusement ride components. This role requires precision, comfort working at heights, and a strong understanding of coatings used in high-visibility, high-durability environments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and takes pride in high-quality finish work.RequirementsRequirements & Essential Functions:Minimum 4 years of commercial or industrial painting experienceProven experience with striping and pavement markingsExperience painting steel or complex structures using rollers and/or sprayComfortable working at heights and in outdoor environmentsKnowledge of surface prep, coatings, and proper application techniquesStrong attention to detail and quality workmanshipValid driver's license and reliable transportationEssential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPrepare surfaces for painting, including power washing, sanding, grinding, masking, patching, and primingPerform commercial and industrial painting on buildings, steel structures, and specialty assetsExecute pavement markings and striping, including parking lots, warehouses, ADA markings, and safety zonesPaint roller coasters and amusement ride structures using rollers, brushes, and spray equipment as requiredWork on elevated structures using lifts, scaffolding, harnesses, and fall-protection systemsOperate striping machines, spray rigs, rollers, and other painting equipmentMix and apply paints and coatings according to manufacturer and project specificationsRead and follow drawings, layouts, color schedules, and safety plansMaintain clean, organized, and safe job sitesFollow OSHA regulations and all company safety proceduresPreferred QualificationsExperience painting amusement rides, roller coasters, bridges, or large steel structuresOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationExperience using aerial lifts, boom lifts, and scaffoldingKnowledge of industrial or specialty coatings (epoxy, urethane, anti-corrosion systems)Work Schedule and ConditionsSeasonal Part-Time positionDay, night, and weekend shifts may be required based on project schedulesWork performed indoors, outdoors, and at significant heightsRequired Qualifications:Ability to stand, sit, use hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.Ability to lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds.Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull.Ability to stand/walk for long periods.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.Work in extreme environments outdoors throughout the year.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events.Salary commensurate with experience.Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:COTA strongly supports equal employment opportunity for all applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, pregnancy, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, marital status, physical disability, mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by state or federal law.
