CMM Programmer

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ability to perform accurate and thorough inspections of various parts and assemblies Communicate non-conformances both written and oral at all levels of the organization Ability to define root cause and corrective action for non-conformances Organizational skills to perform detailed follow up of Corrective Actions Common knowledge of machine tool basics (mechanical, electrical, pneumatics) Support other quality functions within Operations such as workmanship, packaging standards, etc. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 1. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision – yet achieve superior results and output Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and symbols including GD&T Ability to communicate technical information both written and oral Ability to properly use basic mechanical and electrical inspection and measuring tools Ability to perform calibration of hand tools and interpret results Knowledge of disciplined problem-solving tools and techniques Interpersonal skills – Uniquely driven individual with long term ambitions, results oriented, works effectively with others 2. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION Associates degree or technical certificate in engineering / quality discipline or equivalent Or minimum of three years in quality assurance / inspection role Previous experience as machinist / machine builder or assembler preferred 3. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY Extended standing for long periods Lifting and handling of parts up to and occasionally exceeding 50lbs Ability to handle material while operating inspection equipment 4. VISUAL ACUITY, HEARING, SPEAKING Good visual acuity, hearing, and speaking ability 5. ENVIRONMENT AND SCHEDULING Work Second shift 2pm – 10:30pm Most assignments occur at Rochester Hills (clean, well lit, and air-conditioned) Contact with oils, greases, and rust preventatives Occasional short-notice overtime required CORE TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: The following training is required to enable job holders to perform the essential functions of the job.
