The Manufacturing Engineer will bring to the team an expertise in supporting and improving manufacturing capabilities. This role is critical for ensuring that all project requirements are met with precision and that our high-quality standards are upheld throughout the manufacturing process. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough reviews of project requirements during the quoting phase to guarantee alignment with MJS Designs capabilities.
Prepare and lead Manufacturing Readiness meetings with customers and our internal team.
Review projects in process and prior to delivery to ensure every detail adheres to the project requirements before delivery.
Collaborate with our Director of Quality and Quality Manager to ensure Manufacturing is meeting goals by implementing process improvements on the manufacturing floor.
Participate in the creation of standard operating procedures and process workflows in tandem with the Quality Management team.
Collaborate with the Manufacturing Documentation Specialist to develop work instructions per project. Review all work instructions prior to the start of the build for accuracy or areas of improvement.
Apply technical expertise to resolve problems encountered during the build lifecycle.
Use 8D problem-solving methodology to assist in technical and analytical problem resolution with our Director of Quality and Quality Manager
Take ownership of internal challenges, driving the resolution process to a positive outcome and ensuring long-term integration of solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline plus 20 years experience in the printed circuit board assembly industry.
At least 5 years of engineering experience
Experience with 5S and 8D
Experienced leader who knows how to inspire and motivate others.
Strong customer service skills
An articulate communicator, effective with interpersonal, verbal and written communications
A goal-oriented mindset geared towards continual improvement and achieving manufacturing excellence.
Strong analytical skills to solve complex issues using structured problem-solving methods such as 8D.
Expertise in developing, reviewing, and implementing work instructions and standard operating procedures.
Requirements
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, must be a self-starter
