Sports Specialist (CYS) NF-03.

ResponsibilitiesServes as a sports specialist/clinician in a Child and Youth Services program, providing support and assistance to the CYS Sports and Fitness Director and volunteer sports coaches.Models appropriate behaviors and techniques and helps coaches in creating appropriate environments; selecting materials and equipment; and planning meaningful practices that support the required sport season.Conducts practice and game visits as required for the purpose of providing support and assistance.Helps inspect sports facilities/programs to ensure safety compliance, recommends the purchase of equipment required to maintain proper safety compliance, and secures supplies, equipment, and facilities.Provides oversight and accountability for program participants in compliance with DoD, Army, and local policies, guidance, and standards; maintains control of and accounts for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth.QualificationsPossess a bachelor's degree or higher in physical education, or possess equivalent experience in managing or assisting in the delivery of a sports or physical education program that included both individual and team sports.Demonstrated knowledge of the skills and techniques needed for various sports and experience coaching or working with coaches to apply these techniques and required fundamentals.Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position, including a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.Must complete a health assessment including all required immunizations and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.Must obtain or maintain certification in CPR/First Aid.Must either currently possess or obtain a National Association of Youth Sports Clinician Certification within six months of employment.Direct deposit and Social Security Card are required.Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.One-year probationary period may be required.Must complete all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para. 2.A $14,250 relocation incentive is available for this position.J-18808-Ljbffr
