One Family.Purpose StatementThis Environmental Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for managing and directing occupational safety compliance, environmental compliance, workers' compensation compliance, training programs and occupational health issues affecting manufacturing associates at the manufacturing plant level. This position is the direct interface between associate safety activity and management teams.The EH&S Specialist will:Develop and build strong professional relationships with plant management teams functioning as their subject-matter expert in all areas of safety and environmental compliance. Travel requirement approximately 10 %.Be a local subject-matter expert on all safety or environmental related issues, providing direction to plant teams.Develop and implement site-specific policies and procedures within corporate guidelines for assigned locations.Conduct safety and health audits of facilities to evaluate compliance and identify areas of focus, communicating results to plant teams and corporate resources.Assist/direct local plant activities to ensure regulatory compliance.Provide training and/or training materials to associates/team leaders on all regulated programs, documenting and tracking training compliance. Ability to access, understand and administer safety training materials to supervisors, associates and management team.Lead the accident investigation team utilizing root-cause analysis techniques.Manage plant WC program and corridor of care program.Proficient knowledge of OSHA's Recordkeeping Standard 29 CFR 1904, accident reports, 300 log & form 301, keeping logs up to date and maintaining five prior years of documentation.Conduct area safety inspections alone or with a group.Participate with teams to develop corrective actions for recognized hazardous conditions.Interact effectively with medical clinics, nurse case managers and carrier representatives concerning medical restrictions.Complete monthly reports and inspections, then communicate effectively.Any other duties assigned by manager.Provide direction on waste minimization techniques through recycling/sustainability programs to ensure environmental compliance is maintained.Establish, direct and chair plant safety committees and their activities.Knowledge, Skills, and ExperienceBachelor's degree in occupational safety or related field preferred or a combination of associate's degree and related experience.Knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations applicable to general industry/construction.Knowledge of industrial hygiene, labor relations, loss control, basic engineering principles.Knowledge of state-specific workers' compensation law/regulations.Strong oral and written communication skills.Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting workload requirements.LI-BE2OPS123COMPENSATIONIn accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), a reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role.
