Job DescriptionAllstar Ford Stonewall is seeking an Automotive Recall Technician. This is a specialized role focused specifically on performing manufacturer-mandated recall work and associated diagnostics. You will be the dealership's "Recall Expert," staying up-to-date on all Ford safety bulletins and technical service bulletins (TSBs). This position requires a technician who is highly organized, possesses strong diagnostic skills, and can maintain a high level of productivity while adhering strictly to OEM repair procedures. A unique aspect of this position is its hybrid nature: you will perform repairs within our state-of-the-art service center and also operate as a Mobile Service Technician. Diagnostic Precision: Utilize Ford diagnostic software (IDS/FDRS) to identify required software updates, module programming, and hardware failures. Quality Assurance: Ensure all recall work is performed according to Ford's "Fixed Right First Time" standards to prevent repeat visits. Documentation: Provide detailed and accurate reporting of all recall completion steps for warranty submission and customer records. Parts Coordination: Work closely with the Parts Department to ensure all necessary recall kits and components are available for scheduled repairs. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all shop safety protocols while handling high-voltage components or complex structural repairs. Qualifications2+ years of experience in a dealership or high-volume service environment. Strong diagnostic aptitude and the ability to follow complex technical instructions. Proficiency with computer-based diagnostic tools and vehicle module programming. High attention to detail and a commitment to vehicle safety. Self-motivated with a focus on maintaining high "hours per day" productivity. Ownership of professional automotive tools.
