Applications Accountant

OverviewA growing insurance organization is seeking a Premium Applications Accountant to join its operations-focused accounting team. This role is heavily centered on premium and cash application, large data set analysis, and reconciliation activities. The position offers strong visibility to leadership and a clear path to permanent hire.You’ll report directly to the Premium Supervisor and play a key role in ensuring accurate premium processing, financial integrity, and operational efficiency.Core ResponsibilitiesProcess and apply insurance premiums and cash receipts across multiple product linesVerify cash postings, commissions, and payment activity for accuracy and completenessPrepare tie-outs, reconciliations, and journal entries to support month-end closeUpload and track both paid and unpaid premium transactionsAnalyze and manage large data sets, ensuring data accuracy and consistencySupport process documentation and continuous improvement initiativesPartner cross-functionally with operations and accounting teams to resolve discrepanciesQualifications2–4 years of experience in accounting or premium accountingExposure to insurance accounting (A&H, Life, or Property & Casualty) is preferredStrong understanding of premium processing and reporting workflowsAdvanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation, data cleanup)Experience working with large data volumes in a transactional environmentVBA or automation experience is highly preferredDetail-oriented with the ability to operate in a high-volume, deadline-driven environmentBenefits: Health insurance, 401(k), profit sharing, PTO, and more.Ready to apply or refer someone?
