Software Engineer
Description:
Position Summary
Develops and maintains software features for Avum's government applications. Works across the full development lifecycle from requirements through testing and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain application features and bug fixes for government systems
Participate in code review processes to ensure quality and maintainability
Coordinate with QA teams on testing, defect resolution, and release readiness
Work with SMEs and clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions
Support production troubleshooting and incident response
Contribute to team estimation, sprint planning, and retrospectives
Maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $90,000 – $130,000 annually, with a target midpoint of $110,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and geographic location. Requirements:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field
3+ years of software development experience
Proficiency in Java, Python, or relevant programming languages
Active Secret clearance
U.S. citizenship required
Experience with version control (Git) and Agile development practices
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Appian platform
Full-stack development skills
AWS or cloud development experience
Knowledge of DoD software development standards
