Welder - $38 - $42 per hour + Per Diem - Based In Louisville, KY for 1 Year

We're seeking skilled and experienced Journeyman welders to join an exciting project in Louisville, KY. These positions are available for both local and per diem workers. You must be willing to travel to Louisville, KY for approximately one year.Details are below:As a journeyman welder, you will be expected to plan, lay-out, weld, install, test and repair all types of pipe and similar tubular products in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes and industry standards.Markets Hiring: Louisville, KY**Workers from anywhere in the continental US can work on this project as long as they are willing to be in Louisville for 1 year.Salary Range$38 - $42 per hour + $105/day per diem for anyone outside of 50 miles from the jobsite. Nightshift earns +$1 per hour.Shift: Five 10 hour shifts per week.Benefits: 401(k) Dental insuranceHealth insuranceVision insurancePaid time offLife insuranceAccidental death & dismemberment insuranceQualificationsMay require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.Must possess strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position.Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement toolsRequirementsThe person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawlConstantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditionsWork irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as requiredMay be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffoldsMove and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfacesMust be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environmentMay be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial siteMust have required toolsMust pass RMD weld test with qualityObserve and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as requiredAbility to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testingHere's what you'll be doing: Plan, diagram and lay-out for pipe welder's workCoordinate with field labor crew for efficient installationsPosition the weld set up, fit the piping and perform welds involving a high degree of precision independentlyLay-out, and assemble pipes accurately and according to production standards, quality requirements, safetyrequirements, code, design, and specificationsMake welding repairs and substandard weldsAssist with coordination of any Pre-Fabrication layout or installationAssist with rigging of materialOperate air arc gouger, grinder, stress relieving machine, and other industry machines, tools and equipmentEstimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed toperform a work activity.Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies andexplain and take any corrective action needed.
