Details 15-bed admissions unit within an acute care hospital setting, with all private rooms Receives patients who are ready for discharge from the ER but have not yet been assigned to a specific inpatient unit Performs initial admissions and provides care until patients are transferred to their designated unit General medical/surgical patient population Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 on days and 6:1 on nights 12-hour shifts rotating days and nights (0700–1930 or 1900–0730) Every other weekend required Every other holiday required No on-call responsibilities Floating to other medical/surgical units required as needed EMR: Epic (experience required) Equipment includes Zebra phones for communication, Omnicell for medication management, and Aleris IV pumps 13-week contract Requirements Active ND or Compact RN license required BLS certification (AHA) required — must be active and non-pending at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience required Level I Trauma Center experience required Epic EMR experience required Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment 2 current professional references required: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 from a peer or supervisor in the same specialty within the last 3 years Additional Information New medical/surgical admissions unit with a fast-paced work environment Navy blue scrubs required Orientation is 8 hours Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position Candidates living between 60 and 80 miles from the facility may be considered at a reduced travel pay rate Previous employment at any Sanford Health location must be disclosed for eligibility review American Traveler Job ID P-690699.
