Senior Accountant

Northwest Houston, TX | On-Site (Monday–Friday)A privately held commercial real estate ownership and management firm is seeking an Senior Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a portfolio of commercial properties totaling approximately 1 million square feet. This role will work closely with the company’s Controller and play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting functions, and assisting with property and entity-level accounting activities. The position offers a strong growth opportunity as the current Controller transitions toward retirement in the coming years.ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day accounting functions related to commercial real estate operationsMaintain property and entity-level accounting records using YardiPrepare financial reports and assist with periodic financial statement preparationOversee capital account tracking and reconciliationPerform bank account administration and monthly reconciliationsSupport budgeting, reporting, and operational financial analysis as neededAssist the Controller with accounting oversight and financial management functions across the portfolioEnsure accurate record keeping and adherence to internal accounting controlsQualificationsExperience in accounting within commercial real estate, property management, or a related field preferredHands-on experience with Yardi or similar property accounting software strongly preferredStrong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reportingHighly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilitiesAbility to work on-site in Northwest Houston Monday through Friday with limited commute preferredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferredCompensationAnnual bonus and salary increase potentialHealthcare allowance available after three years of employment
